CD cover checklist

Here is a quick checklist of things you might want to include on each piece of your CD.

Cover:

  • Artist's name
  • Album title

Traycard:

  • Artist's name
  • Album title
  • Track listing
  • Track times
  • Barcode
  • Distributor's address (or your home address if you're selling them yourself)
  • Copyright info (e.g., © 2004 Dreamtheory Productions. All rights reserved.)
  • SOCAN logo (if registered with SOCAN)
  • MAPL logo (if CD is recorded and manufactured in Canada)*
  • Made in Canada logo (this is in accordance with U.S. customs regulations — click here for more information)
  • Artist's website

Spine:

  • Artist's name
  • Album title
  • Reference number (e.g., PDT-001 — used for job tracking and can be any combination of letters and numbers)

Booklet/Insert:

  • Track listing
  • Track times
  • Credits (producers, engineers, guest musicians, photographer, artist, etc.)
  • Recording locations
  • Lyrics
  • Thank-yous
  • Website
  • Contact information

CD Face:

  • Artist's name
  • Album title
  • Copyright info
